The Layout Library
For the year of 2022-23 I designed a template library for designers. With the ability to join for the year, or month by month, designers were given access to the design templates in a method that works well for web designers.
Focused on complex layouts, nav, or specific designs problems
Included a full video tutorial hosted on Podia.
Included custom css written exclusively by Meg to achieve any designs.
Also included the JSON files so that designers who use the SquarespaceWebsites Tools PRO could upload layouts for client sites.
Often also given alternative photo sources for each design.
EdenGrove
This site had a lot of fun custom elements including overlapping content, custom buttons, a forced mobile navigation and more.
Fluer
Fleur was a one-page sales page for a course-style design. with this layout we added numbers in circles for lists (all css), and some really fun other custom list design solutions with just css.
Florence Studio
This was designed during our mastermind class, and included lots of fun overlapping content before fluid engine made it easy.
Juniper
Juniper was a full website designed for a service based company that included three variations of styles and colors, as well as fully taught in our template course March 2022.
Lakeside Studio
Lakeside was created with the full intention of it being an easy to implement design for a portfolio site. Learning about css filters for making logos black and white, or reversing logos in menus was a css focus.
Magnolia
Our FREE template designed to showcase what a template from the studio looked like from the backend, as well as how to create small but really impactful css edits for a blogsite.
Orlaya
One of my all time favorite designs, this one pager site included a sub-navigation at the top of the page (before any plugins were available!) with just css. This was perfect for designers that needed an internal sales page for their clients.
Poppy Collective
The poppy collective was inspired by Linden (see 7.0 templates) and wanted to bring those same elements that everyone loved from the blog page to the layout library members.
Rue Organics
Very rarely did I feel like I had a lot of inspiration for a homepage for an ecommerce shop that was my style, so I wanted to create something here for designers to inspire, but also chock full of other fun css elements.
Sage Studio
Sage is a simple portfolio website that could be implemented by a range of designers and their clients. We wanted to showcase small type edits that can make a big change for this design.
Wilde
My all time favorite template, this was PRE- Fluid Engine, and we wanted to create great overlapping content that was easy to manage.
Josie Blooms
Josie blooms was designed two ways - regular and ‘heirloom’. This site was tricked out with lots of pages for the members and lots of little design elements that are too cute.
Oleander
A one page website, we did a few examples of the Oleander to show how versitile this could truly be.
Aria
I wanted a few things for clients in template form, so I worked specifically on Aria to design a ‘card style’ design for ecomerce, with the 7.0 style product tags, as well as category navigation that included images!
TEMPLATE ARCHIVE
The 7.0 Templates
Our Spring 2020 Templates
Our spring 2020 templates were a full collection of five templates, ranging from different styles all to bring an elegant design style to the Squarespace template world.
All templates were in 7.0 squarespace, meaning classic editor designs, and all produced on the Brine template.
Cecily
Designed initially as a blog, the Cecily was a crowd favorite when it came to templates from the studio.
Alder
A really minimal and Scandinavian inspired design - Alder was a portfolio site template.
Laurel
This site was originally based off of a client site that didn’t launch (actually did 4+ years later) and I thought it was a great way of showcasing a fun navigation for a photography studio.
Linden
The linden template had the most fun css - esp for the blog (see layout library Poppy) and still one of my most used inspiration sites for a minimal brand to this day.
Oleander
A one page website, we did a few examples of the Oleander to show how versatile this could truly be.
